We work for an annual kindergarten music concert and are excited to capture the children’s lively singing and musical performances yearly. However, post-production can be pretty challenging. After recording the concert, we deliver the mixed and mastered audio files to the video team, ensuring that the sound meets the expectations of both teachers and parents. Fortunately, we have consistently delivered excellent work over the years.
We use about ten channels for this session, but the pair of DPA microphones mounted on the ceiling is crucial. Therefore, we assign our best team members to the task: Millennia HV-3C preamp and TASCAM DA-3000 stereo recorder.
Our recording equipment is tailored to meet the project’s requirements and budget. Since certainty is our top priority for live recordings, we always consider systems that do not rely on computers first. While digital audio workstations (DAWs) like ProTools are reliable when set up correctly, we prefer using SD card recorders, which are safer for long-duration recordings.
